Are all Albion K2 jump saddles not the same?

My horse had one fitted for him by a saddler with his old owner. It was a K2 medium wide.
They wanted to keep the saddle but I loved it and thought it the comfiest thing I've ever sat on. It also fitted the horse beautifully.
So ff a year or so. He's not changed shape that much as the saddle I had fitted for him when I got him home still fits nicely but I still wanted the Albion.
So a friend is selling a k2 jump in medium wide and I nearly bit her hand off for it!
I've tried it on this morning and it's almost sitting on his wither- this is without rider weight. The back panels are also not in contact with his back. Shoulder wise it's fine.
Why would this be? Could it be as simple as flocking (it's that low I suspect not) but I thought this was a pretty safe buy?!
Do they come on different trees?
Age wise both his own old one and this are about 3/4 yrs so should be the same.

They always used to have a couple of different tree types as standard.
But there is also the possibility that either of the saddles was built and flicked for a particular horse.

I have experienced this. I know Albion can widen trees on their saddle by a width. I bought a medium wide and when it arrived it was more like a wide. So perhaps your friends has been widened before she bought it? If she didn't buy new. Or the one your horses old owners had, was altered in someway. They do a TB tree too so perhaps this is something to do with it?

Aw now that's interesting! It might be that it could be made to fit the current owners horse again then perhaps, her horse has just widened. Would you go direct to Albion for that?

I'm not sure that would work in this situation as it's ok on his shoulder- I think narrower might make it too narrow?! It's almost like it needs tilting up at the front, a front riser pad would possibly make is useable but it would be silly to buy a saddle that needs a corrector pad when my current one is a decent fit.... However beautiful it is.
