Okay his list of crimes

Removing the battery box so he can up clip the wires from the electric fencing and then promptly escapes out of the paddock.

Managing to wriggle the bolt out of the slip rail then slip the top rail back and jump the bottom rail to get out of the corral!

Lifting his field mates rug over her bum so it's folded back on it's self ( No fillet string ...Long story!)

Poo's in other peoples feed buckets not his own!! Why oh Why?

Climbs up the Somerset banks and scrambles through hedges to get to nicer grass!

Undoes my zips and puts my hood up for me when standing for the farrier!

And letting himself out of his stable when at livery as he doesn't apprecite being in!

Limbo dancing under the top slip rail before I can get the bottom one accross!

Jumping the electric fencing just for fun!

Is it coz he's a naughty pony or is it his breeding or maybe just because he is a boy!!!? My mare doesn't even this of any of the above a total sweetie.

mines only half new forest & sounds just as bad!
she learnt how to remove the clip from the electric fencing so she could charge through it all & take it down, but then the next day she will jump it :S She can also undo trigger clips if you put them on the bolt of her stable to stop her gettin out, she can also undo kick bolts.
Shes very naughty, but when shes good shes amazing! & worrying shes taken it upon herself to teach one of the foals her cheeky ways!

is he forest bred??,

i have 2 born on the forest and they dont see hedges and banks as boundaries, they just see them as obstacles!!
my foal knows that he can grab the plastic gate handles in his teeth, unhook and chuck it to one side, he also uproots elec fence posts as he knows they dont shock you!!

so yeah, he pretty much lets himself out when he wants, and is rarely in the field i left him in!!

They're not naughty - they're just cheeky! Mine have also learnt how to remove the clip from the electric fence and then managed to get hold of, and, of course, completely trash the "gun" on the end of the hose that had been well out reach . . . . they do seem the have a pathological need to "play" with things but they have character in abundance

My three have ..... "character"!

They are very good at pulling rugs over each other's heads, having ripped the fillet strings off, or wriggling out of their own rugs, while they were still done up.

They are very clever at testing the electric fencing and making the most of a few seconds when it is switched off to make their escape.

Turned my back for a split second recently, and one untied himself in the yard, took the fire extinguisher off the wall and was threatening to squirt one of the others with it!!!!!!!!

My Shetland has an equal list of crimes against his name.

Friends think he's charming. I just find him bleeding annoying!

They do enjoy their fun...
Little beggars...
Usually no malice in it though

Our mare is worse than the gelding though for limboing through the electric fence (a trait shared by her little sister who is also in off the forest at the moment) and undoing her stable door. Woe betide us if we forget to put the lead rope clip on the bolt at night, she is often wandering round the yard in the morning.

Ours is cheeky - he'll nibble with his lips any exposed flesh when you bend over, he'll pick up things and move them like buckets or rakes. In his previous home he was known to just disappear over fences that were supposed to keep him in, but he's not done that yet. However he can be a little lacking in the brain department at times - yesterday he couldn't work out where S had gone when he walked behind the field shelter and was really surprised when he appeared the other side. Not just once either, but every time.

Mine only half new forest but does most of the things listed lol. He once did 9 fields in less than half an hour because he was bored...
His favourite trick when he was younger was to jump the gate (if it was just tape he would go under) after he had just been turned out and then come trotting up behind you as you were walking away and then grab your coat/jumper! He is now very fond of picking up whips or sticks and hitting people of other horses with it

Poo picking is a nightmare when he's in the field though, he always feels the need to ''help'' by walking off with the tools or knocking over the wheelbarrow

I loved all your comments they made me laugh - thank you x

Yes he is forest bred so I guess that's why he doesn't do being enclosed in a paddock no matter how big - it's the principal he objects to not the field itself!

I love him to bits but yes when I have spent all day constructing a Willow proof fence he spend 60 seconds deconstructing it and sometimes it's for his own safety and my piece of mind!! Arrgghh!

We left the DIY livery because of his antics
