am still failing in my quest to get a 100g T/O rug that is a good fit on my Sec D:rolleyes: She has a decent girth on her and a 6ft3 weatherbeeta freestyle is perfect on her... sadly, they dont do the 100g anymore unless its a combo, and we dont do combo rugs;)

i have now had a swish - went down to a 6ft but it was still really deep on her. An Amigo Bravo, hugely deep and now a ruggles... also so deep Ive had to knot the surcingles and leg straps and is down to her knees:o

Can anyone recommend a rug that fits along the same lines as WB? What are the Shires ones like?

I have a Shires lightweight Typhoon for chestnut mare and I didn't need to shorten the surcingles! I did get it in 6ft (she's a 6ft3 in her Amigo) and it fits really nicely. :)

another vote for saxon if you dont want a deep rug.

my 16.2 poor doer normally has a 6"6 rug, but he came with a 6"9 saxon and it was just ridiculously short on him. BARELY covered his belly

im surprised as i always thought amigos were pretty short around the tummy, just longer at the front! haha

They've been revamped. So the Amigo Bravo and Amigo Hero rugs are now long, flappy and suitable for jousting. :p

Saxon rugs are possibly one of the shortest! Lots of cheap brands are on the skimpy side too, but the necks are usually huge.

I have a Bucas for my horse, the Saxon looked seriously silly on him and the Bucas isn't far off.

I have a very chunky connie x nf and my Shires rug fits him really well, I love it!, but it is just a lightweight one I have. I was disappointed with my Swish rug as it was like a mini skirt on him!
