Are Amigo rugs roomy enough for chunky monkies?

I'm watching a couple of medium weights on ebay ( as I sorted my rugs yesterday and don't seem to have any! ) but will they fit a particularly big fronted WB? His Mark Todd is ok on him but Shires rugs tend to strangle him a bit so I am wary of fit. Can anyone advise?

Also, where can I buy him an extra large neck cover. I can't find anyone selling just the neck on the internet. I'm confused

I have a TB x Shire and Amigos are a really nice fit. My friend has a Section D and fit him lovely. However my Clydesdale x Cob who is huge has to have a chest expander, They fit lovely in depth and length but are a bit tight across the shoulders but a chest expander off Ebay only cost £5.

I wouldn't even bother personally, I tried a friends Rambo on the Welsh Cob once and it was like a mini skirt he only wears weatherbeetas, but you will find exceptions to ever rug rule

My two chunky boys both have fairly wide chests and shoulders and anything by HorseWare fits them well!

Anything by Horseware, I always buy the next size up, as they're a snug fit. I have Amigos and they're ok ish but I'd invest in Rhinos any day of the week, as they're far more robust and a superior fit, with the V fastening at the front.

Through trial and error (mostly error) I found that the only rugs to fit our Shires were Weatherbeetas.....however, after recently losing our big chested ISH, I was wondering what I was going to do with her extensive rug wardrobe, included in this collection is an Amigo stable rug and lite turnout. I tried them on my Shire gelding, not expecting them, for one second, to fit and was amazed to find that they both fitted him without restriction.

my boy has an Amigo one size larger than he needs, and it fits fab. But not a lot left of it after last winter, so am going to get a new one. The tail flap was the first thing to go !

I have a chunky cob (14.3hh and in a 6ft 6 rug!) and amigos are the only ones I have tried that fit well

Weatherbeetas do fit him well around the shoulders but seem to come up short and I have to buy them a size bigger. Does anyone else find this too?

I do love my mark todd rugs but they're spensive and don't seem to crop up on ebay much. I am watching a heavy weight one in 6'6'' so don't anyone bid. I found it first! It matches my little horses so I want it. How sad is that?!

Id say the amigos would fit your boy nicely; I find they are nice and deep and they fit my horse well (16.2 ISH).

But to add to the brand confusion - I had a masta turnout for him which was like a mini skirt!
Definately always go horseware

No he probably isn't but you can see my little TB in the background and what I'm more used to!

He just seems to be a bit of a difficult shape for some reason.

Sadly I've missed a nice dark blue one whilst deliberating but am still watching a lilac one. Won't he look manly. He already has a pink weatherbeeta because it was cheap. He'll be on the phone to the RSPCA soon!
