The only cob size headcollar that fits 14.3 Connie is the Horseware Newmarket. Does anyone else have the same problem....what do you recommend? His bridle is cob size - I've taken any number home from the tack shop to try on without success. ideally I prefer one with a side clip. Heeeeelp..!

I think head collars and bridles are much like clothing for people, go to Marks & Spencers your a size possibly two smaller than somewhere like Primark or New Look.

As others have said, get a full size, after all its only a label, providing it fits :)

Get a full size one?

I have a full size wearing tb and his headcollars are too big! Hence the question...which should have been 'who makes the biggest cob size headcollars other than Horseware?'. No worries, I'll just continue doing what I'm doing and trying them on. Thank you people.

take the horseware head collar with you to tack shops and compare sizes in the other head collars then you can get one to fit

They re indeed like clothing vary by makes. Just because your cob is a cob doesn't actually men he needs cob size. My donkey can't even get into a full size when my husbands BIG cob can, she needs extra full, so I would just buy full size for yours. Agree totally with taking a headcollar that fits when you visit your tack shop.

Yep they do seem to vary a lot... I've had ones that absolutely swamp my 14.2 and ones that don't fit even on the last hole... best ones seem to be those that the nose adjusts on. I had an amazing headcollar years ago that would fit anything from 12.2 right up to 16 hands... wish I could remember the make as it was very handy!

Ha,ha and thanks!! It sounds exactly what I need. I spent half an hour in the tack shop with my trusty tape measure...brought yet another head collar home, tried it on and am still iffy...ho hum, this one will run and run!

The most adjustables ones that I have seen are the cottage craft ones that have buckles on the nose, throat and poll strap.
