I know it's a long shot and how bad the Market is at the mo but are people still after companions? My friend has a lovely 15hh who she really can't keep anymore due to serious money problems he's 14 yrs old fit and healthy but has issues under saddle so must not be ridden. He's good with all horses and could maybe show in hand. If he can't be homed on a perm loan he will be pts. Are people looking for companions or is it a waste off time.

Well when I was looking for a companion there was nothing local to me, except over 16HH jobbies which would have cost a fortune to feed . Personally I was looking for something under 15HH that could live out if necessary and not need vast amounts of food! I thought I would be spoilt for choice in the present economic climate.

This lad is a very good doer, lives out fine but will be stabled if you want. No hassal at all and turn him out with any horses and he won't bother them at all he's just so so sweet. But she knows if a home can't be found she must do the right thing. If it was he own land it would be fine but she's lost job/no money and can't pay the livery so has to go.

Truthfully? IMO The horse should be pts. If the owner cannot afford to look after him, why should the cost be placed on someone else? Especially if the horse has 'issues' under saddle, hes just an expensive ornament! Personally, I would rather have a horse like that pts, for 2 reasons. 1) I would hate to hear of him being passed from pillar to post, and 2) I would forever feel AWFUL if someone tried to ride it and they got hurt. Just my opinion though, hope they make the right decision for the horse :)
