Are cutaway tweeds still passé?

Or like the 80s have they come back in? My 3 yo is going to be doing a handful of local level lead rein classes this winter, And I’m looking for 2nd hand kit for her. I haven’t shown properly in about a decade, but back then cutaway was mostly used in side saddle.
I’ve seen a second hand jacket that is in the same check as my tweed and am tempted (because no way am I buying a leaders outfit at this point!) but will I be making my toddler a fashion outcast?

I've no idea what they wear for lead rein classes but at 3 if you tell her she looks lovely she'll believe you and be perfectly happy. My grown up daughter and I often have a laugh over some of the outfits she wore as a child and her home haircuts. It hasn't done her any harm

That’s what I thought! And not that expect to do anything above local (at the moment we’ll be lucky to even get there!) but if I’m buying something it might as well be appropriate!
