My stallion used to eat acorns and oak leave for a past time and where he was kept there wasn't much else to keep. Phoned the vet on numerous occassions and he said that my horse was just naturally immuned

. He ate ivy as well when he had the chance. He's still alive and kicking but not living with me any more and I'm sure he's still partial to all those poisenous things!! (Would be 22yrs old now!!)

I have always been told that only the rare (rare here anyhow) RED oak leaves are poisonous to horses. I have heard that acorns can make them sick, but only if they eat alot.

I am not certain what species of Oak you have where you live though so best to ask your local vet
