Hi, random Q but hoping someone can help! Am in the midst of hunting for a new saddle for my mare, getting the saddle fitter out is a no no as my local one will only come out to fit brand new saddles which I ain't in the market for! I have seen a lovely GFS saddle on ebay which is medium, when trying wintec saddles (yuck) the medium gullet fit directly onto my mares back perfectly - my question is do GFS saddles conform to this width in general or are there likely to be variations? I know buying online is a minefield but not many people locally selling saddles at the moment do limited options!

I have a gfs dressage saddle and its a wide, it fitted a horse that also wore an ideal wide so i would say it is a generous width although it is too narrow for both my horses so i have it up for sale at the moment.

they aren't the same size as wintecs, there's a gullet measurement difference between them but I can't remember which way it is, narrower or wider. I have a gfs, my hafflinger is in an xxxw gullet on it, my saddler came to have a look at it to see if I could back my welshie in it, and he came up xw so I don't think they are that generous he's only 3.5 and not particularly wide to my eye (my eye has been looking at a table top haffy for the last 5 years though)
