hi, just wondering if you think that advertising in HHO, compared to something like Horseuqest, or Horsemart is worth the money- witha compeition horse in mind?

is it worth using a few of them..if so which?

Any experience would be great thanks!...was quite shocked by the price when flick9ing through my magazine!

I got some 1/2 price ads in the summer and advertised 3 horses. The response was fab, loads of calls even a couple of weeks after. One was a cheapie and he was the most popular

Do you mean HHO or H&H ??
If so i got loads of replies for an ad. placed in H&H.. but nothing from an ad. placed in 'Horse Deals' last year, and nothing from an ad. placed on 'Horse Quest' about 5 yrs ago...
IMO an ad. in H&H is the way to go when selling horses (or word of mouth).

I've found HorseQuest the best, especially recently.

I have had success with H&H, but of the last 2 ads placed (for different horses), one only produced one call, and the other 3 or 4 window shoppers etc ("oh, I've just noticed it says she's 4 in the ad, I don't want a 4yo", "will your 4yo 3/4 TB be suitable for my 11yo as her first horse" etc - but I'm sure you get them everywhere)

H and H have yet to impress me , people that i have produced horses for have placed adds and they have yet to get the add right, when they have paid for a colour boxed add and h andh have got the phone number wrong. Genius!
I have found the internet sites more value for money when advertising cheaper horses as , funnily enough people seem to spend a lot of their day trawling these sites for up to date sales!!!

The search facility on the H&H site is absolutely useless, IMO. For example, the height categories are very wide - you can only narrow the search down to between 14-16 hands, for example, which means that if you are searching for a pony you get loads of horses in your search and vice versa. Because buyers can't just pick out the ads they need I'm sure many sellers' ads can get overlooked and some buyers just give up in frustration, I know I did!

Thanks every one- i think i might go with both H&H as well as Horsequest as they do seem the most popular! I actually bought my mare of Horsequest and it does seem to be getting increasingly popular, and then of course H&H is the main place!
thanks for your help.

IMO - No. We have had a horse in H&H for the last two issues plus on the website. So far only had one call from website and one from mag.
Going to try Horsequest next.
