Are horse leg veins always smooth?

Yes, it's me again with the horse with the slightly enlarged vein! Seem to be making great progress but there's a little bump on the vein mid way down the front leg (between knee and fetlock) on inside...normal/abnormal? No pain, no heat, sound when worked, etc, etc,....
 
Dex has got Varicous Veins which are permanently enlarged and they have bulges. If you only have it on one leg then i would be suspicious as that can indicate infection or bruising..
 
i think a boots caused a pressure point due to its cut- it's been getting better over the past two weeks with the application of various creams. there's no wound at all, i have checked the leg thoroughly a lot of times!
