I used to wear short boots with chaps, but decided I wanted some long boots.
I bought 2 pairs in November last year, a pair of woofwear boots, and a pair of mark todd boots.

The woofwear ones I wore every day for mucking out and occasional riding, they broke about April/May time.
I wore my mark todds just for riding, until my woofwears broke, since then I have worn mark todd boots for everything.
They broke yesterday, both pairs got a big hole in back.

So now I am tempted to go back to short boots and chaps, has anyone else found long boots to be weaker, or am I just odd, and walk funny or something? lol

I have the same Mark Todd boots & also a pair of Mountain Horse leather long boots. Bought the Mark Todd boots for winter and had no issues with them and they're still in one piece and hopefully will last another year at least! Had the Mountain Horse boots over 18 months no issues.... So I can't say I've had a problem with long boots yet!

i bought the woof wear boots at the end of the winter before last so say about may 2007 i got them and they are still going they are the best boots ive had but i wont wear them for going in a muddie feild thats my wellies job lol but i ride in a pair of mountain horse sportive rider boots and they have been fab had them for two years i occasionally ride in short boots and chaps but i find unless you buy an expensive pair of boots u r looking at a pair of boots every three fourth month super annoyin!
