My dd is going to a newcomer's hunt next weekend. She's done a mock PC hunt before and pony is a very experienced hunter. She's with freinds, but I'd like her to have her mobile phone with her for safety. Normally she'd have it on a neoprene holder on her leg - but I've never seen anyone hunt with a phone attached. Is it not done? Can I send her with her phone? (on silent or turned off of course!) Should she put it in her jacket?

I bet nearly everyone has a phone somewhere on them, my daughter always carries one, on silent/vibrate in her pocket. Don't worry about it

I have mine in my jod pocket on vibrate, never know when you might need it. I went cubbing the other week and the two people leading the hunt where on opposite sides of a hedge so they got their mobiles out and had a chat about where to go next

We always have our mobiles on us and are forever ringing everyone to find out where they are etc. My boss usually gets me to ring the yard everytime I jump/fall off etc to tell them all about it
