are my brakes suppose to be this sharp

i have a c registration ford cargo horsewagon and the brakes are very sharp,are they suppose to be does anyone know

I used to have a Ford Cargo 811 with exactly the same problem. The brakes would just bit all of a sudden. It was a really simple thing to fix - a valve of somesort. Wasn't too expensive. Good luck.
