At the mo my field has little grass and I'm feeding hay in the field for them, apart from my tb the others are good doers so are only on one meal a day which is a level topspec measure off fast fibre each with a mug off micro linseed and 1 scoop off general vits/mins. The oldies get devil claw herb as well.
Now because they all get way below the recommended amount off fast fibre a day will the mirco linseed add vits/mins and can I drop the general purpose supplement? Or am I best carrying on with this? It's just I get through bags off naf general purpose a month and wondered if I really need it?
They all have fab coats, really shiney and hoofs are good.

Oh forgot to add, the laminitic pony gets mag in his feed but the others don't.
Sweetitch highland gets naf d -itch as well.

Oh and I have tried to just put out feed blocks, 3 around the field in different places but they all started fighting so don't want to go down that route again,

I'd stick with what you are feeding, though would add mag to everyones feed and perhaps revisit your choice of vit and min supp? How much is the naf per serving? Would consider equimins meta balalnce, pro hoof or forage plus summer or winter (winter contains vit e). I love ff and micro linseed so I would stick with them. Ours are on a similar amount to what you are feeding and look amazing (oh, the modesty lol!!) on it! Both are in light/med work.
Are yours doing well on what you are feeding, is there a reason you are considering tweaking things?

Sorry the others are on mag as well, I'm getting confused myself.
They all look great, and although a topspec cup off fast fibre don't sound a lot it makes a decent amount once the water is added.
I was really just wondering if the micro linseed would add vits so I could just cut out the general purpose supplement?

The micro linseed gives omega 3 and 6 oils, which are just fab for coat/skin/joints but it isn't full of vits and mins so you would still need to feed a vit and min supplement. FF is ace because you wind up with a reasnoble tea amount even if you are super stingy on the dry amount, like I am!!

Ok thanks guys,
I don't add salt as each horse has a salt lick tied up in the stables which they all use, more so in winter.
Ok will carry on as I'm doing and keep the vits/mins.
The pony I know, I use the topspec measure as I found it kicking about and thought, perfect I can measure out the correct amount off water to fast fibre and it looks nothing until the water soaks up. But the horses are happy as they do have a bit in their bowls. And a bag off fast fibre lasts a long time even for 5 horses when u use a measure cup, and are tight
