I run my own small livery yard in Hertforshire and am shock at the little response I have had recently had a empty stable for a few months not this time last year I had people on a waiting list.
Anyone else had the same problem??? Or reasons why people arent moving yards????

Seem to be quite a few advertised up here in the chester/NE wales area too (I've just been looking to put my new boy in), alot more than last year. Think everyone might be going to field/shelter arrangements which are cheaper? Things are tight for a lot of ppl at the moment...

Seems to be alot more spaces at the moment.
I recently moved from North London to Herts and both the place I moved from and to have spaces. Last year there was a waiting list.

My yard has had an empty box for the last 2 years, both of my ponies are out of action & have been offered a loan horse from a friend for a few months, YM told me I can't have the stable as loan horse is a mare, she wants to bring in a new gelding to accompany her gelding who is unsettled, fine except a) she hasn't even advertised the stable yet b) as its been empty for 2 years at least I would doubt it will fill very quickly. Reading the above posts it seems yards are quieter, so wouldn't she be better to fill the stable & have the money coming in be it on a short term basis till I have a mended pony??
