I have been advertising my horse for loan for about 2 months now and can't believe no one has wanted him. Aren't people loaning horses anymore? Anyone else having this much trouble loaning theres out?

I've seen alot of people on here asking where to find loan horses.

I've loaned one out without ever intending too..(to a fantastic home, in case you are reading this!!!)

I guess it depends on the horse. Are you willing to let your horse move yards? I had no real interest when I put mine up for loan until I changed the ad to say he could move yards, then I had a deluge of people. Have in fact just sold him to the people who took him on loan

Where are you advertising? I get loads of emails from the hunt asking for horses to loan, and advertising them as well.

He is a 6 year old very quiet TB and is really good to hack alone and in company etc and his schooling just needs a little work and i will allow him to move yards unless its like 3 hours away

I have loaned my horse before, and although it is a pain, it is sometimes worth allowing them to go further afield... I'm flying to Cambridgeshire next week to look at a potential loan pony, who I would be bringing to N.Ireland, and giving a 5* home...

I've my fingers crossed that it all works out next week!!

Maybe broaden your geographical limits a bit...

I have just agreed to loan my wonderful boy out. I had him for sale and could have sold him 10 times over.

I wasn't really wanting to loan as all the horrible stories you hear and he was going to have to stay local to me. Well through a good friend who is at Uni, I am loaning him to her trainer in the New Forest - a good 3 hours trip away from me. I know I'm incredibly lucky as she is a top rider and has lovely facilities. Also my friend liveries there during term time so she can also give me updates.

You might just have to widen the area where he can go but make sure you take references and do a proper contract.
