My YO's daughter has outgrown her pony and got a new horse, so sadly she is for sale (the pony that is, not the girl! :D)
She has been up for sale for a while now and really needs a new home due to the new horse arriving and she now isn't getting the attention she deserves.
She was originally overpriced, but they have now dropped their asking price by £1000! In my eyes, the pony is a bargain! .... But they haven't had one single phone call!

So I'm looking for advice really on what to do next. I thought it was probably down to the advert. They have changed the picture - the original one was horrendous! The new ones not brilliant but is a vast improvement.. The description is basic but to the point. Not sure there is anything else to be added. Or it could be down to the time of the year.. Are parents out looking for ponies yet? Would she stand a better chance in spring? Would a loan be more appealing than a sale? Has noone got any money?

Has anyone managed to sell a pony recentley or are you in the same boat?

I personally don't think that things are moving at the moment. this could be down to a number of reasons but the main one, in my opinion, is that there are all these stories on the news of us going back into recession. people are trying not to take on any additional expense incase this happens. also they may not have been able to sell their own - bit like the housing market. another thing (well in my area at least) Livery is sooo hard to come by and sooo expensive,. people can;t justify that at the moment.

I recently bought a pony. I tended to look for adverts with lots of detail so that I didn't waste my or other people's time phoning about ponies that really weren't suitable. I am sure the weather must be putting some people off. I have been told that horses sell more quickly in the Spring and that prices rise!

Sold a lovely pony last week.

He had to go and tbh the buyers got a bargain for what he was but you could hang onto them forever unless you compromise on price. The market is also flooded with rubbish at the moment going for peanuts so buyers are not distinguishing quality for rubbish and are expecting quality to go for really low prices.

Same boat i'm afraid :(

I have a wonderful PC/comp pony, very talented jumper but no recent competition record, noone wants to know!

Have had lots of texts and interest, someone was suppose to view yesterday but said 1 hour prior..."Oh I think he's going to be too small now"...THE ADVERT SAYS HOW BIG HE IS. I am fed up of timewasters :(

Nothing is moving, my friend has two BSJA ponies up for sale and neither have had any interest, up at reasonable prices.
