are some horses just a bit lean like people?

Brown horse just won't get fatter whatever he is fed. He isn't skinny and he looks well. He doesn't have worms and isn't sick. Do some horses just have a high metabolic rate like some people. My OH doesn't get fat whatever he eats either!

Yes I think some just are like humans. We have a lovely 17.1h TB hunter/eventer on our yard who no matter what he is fed, how much he grazes does not put an ounce of weight on - he looks lean, like a whippet, but good. He has bags of energy, is incredibly healthy but is just thin! Wish I could be like that!
