Are the very expensive stirrup irons worth buying?

I am wondering if the Bow Balance Sprenger stirrups would be worth getting, (OH wants to know what to get me for impending birthday pressy, and I was considering these, but would they be a waste on me who doesn't do anything of a professional nature re riding , just hacking and some lessons, hopefully some shows , when horsey and I are up to scratch! If that ever happens!!Or can anybody

Haven't got the Bow Balance ones but have the Sprenger bendy ones and really rate them. Definitely know if I ride in different ones now. Although other people have had equal success with the cheaper Shires ones.

Ive got the bow balance stirrups on my jumping saddle and have noticed a big difference since using them. Before my i bought them i used to suffer from very painful knees when hacking/competing for any length of time, nowadays i never feel them. They are fantastic shock absorbers and worth every penny in my opinion!

The twisty feature does nothing in my experience, but I wouldn't buy anything but Sprenger now and I LOVE the wide tread on the Bow Balance ones. I managed to find the BB ones cheaper than the "normal" ones though hence why I bought them, but I am very impressed with them

I ride a fair few horses at work and I can really feel the difference when I get in a saddle with non-springy irons on!

Definitly, I've got Sprengers and they are sooo good. My ex bought them for me after I damaged the ligament in my ankle and they've really helped. I've also got dodgy knees and Sprengers really reduce the concussion on them and my ankles when I jump... would highly recommend them

I looked at a pair of irons at Bramham, they were grey plasticy kinda ones, not sure what make they were, I asked how much they were.

I put them down very quickly...and carefully.

Can't afford to pay £90.00 for a pair of stirrups and then £40 for the treads that fit into them unfortunatley...but I'll stick em on my wish list!

I have the orginal sprengers & a pair of royal rider flex and i can not fault either pair but i can certainly say i will not ride without them, even when i go ride friends horse i take my leathers & irons with me

I've got the royston flexi irons, not posh but only paid £20. wont be without them now. no more sore ankles and stiff legs if doing long distance and lovely for jumping.
