Does anyone know of any dressage stallions standing in Ireland? Or any stallion with great movement that could produce a nice dressage horse? Alternatively I could import semen but would like to see if there are any options closer to home!
Thank you

There is definitely a gap in the market for a top class dressage sire here....anyone that has buckets of money please proceed.

Yep there is definitely a gap in the market here for a dressage stallion and dressage is growing over here slowly but surely the cavan festival has good numbers for this weekend. Who would I contact re Painted Black (probably waaaay over budget though) I had a look at Sailorman he's nice but i'm not sure he's what i'm looking for. Will keep searching!

Would echo Sailor Man in Kilkenny however he is actually eventing/SJing bred...just didn't take to it himself....but most of his progeny are excelling at eventing or SJing with several over here with the Kyle's and eventing, with one of his sons. Bobstay, now at 2/3* and winning the Scottish Novice Champs in 2009. In addition, the full sister to Sailor Man is the dam of Mark Kyle's WEG horse Step in Time so am afraid you may well end up with an eventer than a pure dressage horse, as much as Sailor himself loves his circles (LOL). IF you do look at him though I cannot reccommend his temperament, etc highly enough...he is a lovely lovely boy.

This is him: http://ballyvolanhousestud.homestead.com/sailorman.html and I am sure, being by Cruising, he will get a vote of approval from Eothain! LOL
