In the past I've got some good bargains on both Derby House & Robinsons, but this year they've disappointed me greatly.

There is Sweet FA there IMO and after bumming up what a wonderful "sale" they were going to have, I'd have expected much better TBH.

Exactly what I was going to say! Been browsing today, hoping to pick up some decent warm wellies and some rugs but so far bought nothing as there's not much to buy that's any cop!

Agree with all about the lack of sales - it's almost like they got together and all decided that this year they'd not have any sales. Oh crap, I'm starting to feel paranoid again! Ahhh!!!

I have noticed this with all the sales, not just horsey stuff.

We wanted a kitchen and bathroom for my daughters house and some new sofas for mine. We though we might as well wait for the sales, we are now wishing we hadn't bothered.

I think its probably a sign of the economic times, I think a lot of the retailers must have prices low all year and therefore dont have a lot to take off for the sales.

I totally agree. I'm surprise by the lack of good sales anywhere :( eBay is the only place it seems to get cheap items.

These shops say 'sales' but the items are only reduced by £5-£10 pounds for some... Not much of a sale IMO.

I'm not sure it's that the sales are poor or lacking,
but more the fact we're all a lot more "value aware" and after the last year or two, when we go looking for a bargain, it's more noticeable now that during the "sales" - there is in fact very little price difference from what the retailer normally asks.
I know that both DH and R's are playing the silly tactic of using a % off in the sales, but they are using it against the highest possible retail price. Which just happens to be highly increased on the asking price from October for instance.
