Are there any HHO'ers from the Pulborough area? (also in CR)

Hello!

As per title, is anyone from this area or does anyone know the area well? I'm looking at moving there so I would like some recommendations of livery yards if possible pretty please! :)
I have two horses, one mare and one gelding, and I'm looking for DIY grass livery. Facilities are not that important, main priority is a nice field and some good hacking, so maybe a farm type yard?

Cadburys creme eggs on offer in return for recommendations!!

Many thanks, K :)

Hi
how far would you be prepared to travel? are you familiar with the area at all? do you need to avoid road work?

Hello!

I'm not familiar with the area tbh, but where I am looking at living is near the centre Pulborough. I would be willing to travel a reasonable distance for the right place, my current yard is 8/9 miles from where I live and it takes me 15-20 mins to get there.
The horse that is still ridden (other one is retired) is fine with traffic, and I like having roadwork for fittening/short rides etc..

Thanks :)

mmm, a quick google doesn't show up an awful lot, but it's a really horsey area. Hacking is good in lots of places round about, especially if you don't mind the roads.
The livery yard I used to be at in Coldwaltham years ago, has closed down but I think there's still farms/yards round that way that do livery. Trouble is how to find them if they're not on t'internet; you need local knowledge and mine is a bit rusty as a long time since I rode over there.
Keep an eye on the friday-ad/horsemart website for livery ads - maybe try to get hold of the freebie mags for the area e.g. Pegasus/Critters - tack shops and feed merchants will have them. have a feeling the tack shop noticeboards may be your best bet. You might even try a wanted ad for private livery?

Bear in mind that a yard may be within 8/9 miles of Pulborough but, due to traffic, be a swine to get to in the busy times - for e.g. I would be wary of going other side of Storrington, or even Storrington itself, it can be very slow through there.

Wow, thanks for that :D

I'm hoping to check the area out over the weekend so hopefully I will be able to find some locally advertised places.

Thanks again :)

Try contacting Sally Cooper of Blakewood stables (on the net) she may know of somewhere. Good luck!
