Are there any ID tags that actually last?!

In the past I have used the plastic embossed tags from Collars and Tags but the last lot I got were rubbish - the colour rubbed off within weeks and after just a year one has snapped and come off. I like the plastic ones as they are lighter, the letters don't wear off and they don't jangle so much but I'm not buying those ones again!

Are there any good ones that actually stay functional for more than a year!!

I always buy from Identitag and their tags last for years.

The writing is filled up with resin so it doesn't wear off like the just engraved ones.

Indigo tags are brilliant - I was recommended them on here, they attach directly to the collar so if your dog gets lost it is easy to read. No loops to get nails caught in or catch on things.

I've got ancient plastic tags from Collars and Tags still going strong, how annoying that they've changed, they used to be excellent.

If you've got a compatible size/type of collar then Indigo tags are brilliant, I use them on my agility collars (no dangling tags allowed).

I can't use the indigo ones unfortunately as one dog has a half check collar that doesn't have a buckle so I wouldn't be able to get it on and the other has a rolled leather collar which wouldn't fit those tags either :(

there are two types of indigo-also an open ended for collars without buckle

Yes Brownmare, all my tags come from engraving studio. Brilliant, good service too.
My dogs go in the sea on an almost daily basis and tags still good. Choose the ones with the reinforced hole.

Look up red willow designs, they engrave buckles and are fab. Really smart and last well. They also do custom orders so will make you a half choke one as well.

I had collars from tuffstuff who embroider your requirements on to the collar itself which were great until I got a spaniel who spends most of her time in water or mud and the stitching kept rotting. They re-did it for me for free twice but it was a pain sending it back at least once a year!

Then I found Biothane Bert on facebook - wipe clean smart collars made to measure that come with a flat id tag guaranteed for the life of the collar. I have had mine 2 years now and they are still spot on!
