Doing novice 24 on my 13.3hh nf pony on Sunday (god knows why?!) but I'm having a problem of not being able to put my legs on as I'm 5ft5 with incredibly long legs. I ride him at the mo in roller ball spurs but wanted something with more length so I might actually be able to touch his sides rather than just wave my leg around (lol) and wanted them legal too to compete with. Thanks :)

Ahh okay, I have no idea as I'm relatively new to dressage so haven't read the bd rules myself yet. You would think there would be some rule about it. If not I'm wearing 9 inch spurs so I can actually touch my horse and he may actually decide to be forward! :D joking....

Lol I understand love! All that is said about spurs on BD rule handbook 2013 is:

Spurs
Spurs may be worn at all levels and must be worn from advanced level upwards. Excessive
use of spurs is forbidden. Spurs may not be worn upside down.
Spurs must be a pair (except when riding side saddle) and be made of metal although spurs
that have a smooth rotating rubber, metal or plastic ball on the shank are permitted.
The band round the heel must be smooth, “comb” spurs are not permittedand any shank
on the back of the heel must point towards the rear and the end must be clearly horizontal
to the ground or pointing downwards. Dummy spurs are permitted as are swan neck spurs
subject to the above restriction. There is no restriction on the type of shank and rowels that
are permitted provided that they are free to rotate. Rowels which have points must have
rounded ends.
Only blunt spurs without rowels may be worn for Young Horse Classes.

Hope that helps?
