we are looking for a nice 148 jumping pony for my daughter to loan or bring on for someone in bsja and eventing...just sold a 138 we brought through the grades....must be a gelding and full up ...would it be worth putting ads on ponyclub web sites or horsequest....

Definitely. When I was looking to buy I couldn't find anything I wanted, put a wanted ad up and managed to attract some people with good horses that were not actively advertising.

Don't put up how much you are willing to spend, as some people may say their horse is up for the higher end of your budget...when they actually might not be :)

it has to be worth a shot, for sure - what have you got to lose? it may also be worth putting up wanted adverts in your local tack stores/feed merchants, you never know where your next perfect pony will come from :D

the best of luck, i hope you find a suitable horse soon :)

might try horsequest first then...a couple of weeks ago there seemed lots of 14.2 on the market but we had to sell first...we would love to have a short term loan with view to buy...would like to get sorted soon so daughter can get used to pony over the winter before the summer season starts...seems just because its christmas is only weeks away people stop selling...

Absolutely:)

I have bought, and sold horses through wanted ads plenty of times.

If I am selling I trawl the wanted ads on purpose, and whenever I have advertised I have been inundated with replies. You have to sort the wheat from the chaff as it were of course, but your wanted ad may just be the thing that makes someone who is dithering about selling decide.

You have nothing to lose and perhaps a lot to gain.

Good Luck.
