They are predicting it to be as cold as last year. I much prefer it to the driving wind and rain, although not great for riding.

Rather than thinking "Oh God, another hard winter" merely expect it as the norm and then you can all moan happily if it turns out wet and miserable.

I'd rather have snow myself anyday, beats rain and boggy paddocks for 4 months solid

Whatever you get there's nothing you can do about it, so buy in salt and grit now, dust off your shovels and sleds and then say "sod it, let's enjoy the rest of summer"

No, you can get special studded tyres for bikes in Scandinavia I think

Yey, I loved the snow. Give me a cold snowy winter anytime, over mud mud mud and rain. I'll be perfectly happy if it doesn't rise about -5 from november to feb.

You know it's coming. Get ass in gear to sort out transport, shove them in a field with a bale of hay and they'll be as happy as larry. My horses FAR prefer the cold to the wet.
