Feeling quite round at the minute, feel like I have put on a stone. Feel like I look fat in everything I put on

Just wandering how many of you are happy with your weight?

A lot of my friends are small then me but I don't think I am far from normal, 13 years old, 5'3 and around 7 1/4-7 1/2 stone.

Totally random and pointless post but ill in bed and couldn't think of anything else to post

I'm never happy with my weight! But then I am pretty much the same height as you (an inch shorter), and I weigh almost twice what you do, so I guess I have good reason...

You sound a perfect weight - how can anyone who weighs 7 and a half stone consider themselves fat!?!?!

confused.gif

I'm not, but since I've had Scooby I've lost half a stone.
grin.gif
Would really like to lose four or five stone over the next year or so, but I'm not exactly being proactive about it.

Oh pet, you are NOT fat, don't be thinking like that. And if you want to keep up your riding you need muscle and engergy and FOOD!! We all feel about bleurgh when we are ill.

Thats not fat! I think thats a normal weight for your height. And dont forget at 13 your going through all those body changes and you should still have some growing spurts.

I'm 22 and I hate my weight. I've put on about 5lbs since I fell off and fractured my vertebrae cuz I spent 5 weeks lying around resting and i'm still not back to the exercise I was doing before as i'm not totally healed yet

I've never been happy with my weight. I always feel heavier than I want to be. I'm 5ft 6" and weigh 10 stone, I'm a 10-12 but really need to tone up. I just have to realise that I will never be happy with my body
blush.gif

I am 5'2 and about 7 stone 10 and i would say i am ok with my weight. I would say with your height your weight would be in the ideal weight range.

If I didn't know better I would think this is a post from my daughter.
smile.gif
but she is not ill in bed or worried about her weight (I don't think

)

She has just turned 13 and is the same height and weight as you. She is definitely slim, so you must be too

Hope you feel better soon.

I don't think I'm fat as such but seem to be quite leg heavy... I use to dance (I danced for 6 years) so think I have got the big muscley legs from that
crazy.gif
trying to convince myself
grin.gif

That sounds just perfect for your height and age
smile.gif

I do think everyone goes through periods when they feel a bit "heavy" even though their weight is perfect. Maybe you are retaining a bit of water because of hormones, or perhaps your frame has grown a little as you are developing, making your clothes feel a bit tight.

I hope you are feeling better soon, as long as you eat a good healthy diet for your age and have normal exercise (games/PE/mucking out/riding etc) you'll be fine.

I eat what I want mainly, but don't eat chocolate. I have toast for breakfast, have a bottle of water for lunch, snack when I get home from school, then a nice dinner mum decides what shes puts on the table
smile.gif
I then ride at least 5 times a week, play netball on thursday and friday evenings too and get 2 hours of PE through school

A bottle of water for lunch? No food? How can you manage on just toast all day long at school?
confused.gif

Well that's ok, but I would try to have a sandwich or something for lunch too.

You are at an age where you are growing and exercising plenty, take advantage of this, you don't need to restrict your food at this point
smile.gif

You'll have plenty of time to worry about what you eat when you are older. Enjoy it while you are young

seriously, you shouldn't be worried at all, you must be really slim!!!

Im not much taller than you, i must be about 5ft 4, and i weigh 9 stone! I would love to lose some weight, but i don't think it's even possible for me to lose that much to weigh 7 1/2 stone!!!

I am always trying to lose weight, but i wouldnt say i was fat, i suppose im quite muscular.

i dont think you need to lose any weight!!!
smile.gif

Seem to not worry, but at weekends when I ride I eat lunch
smile.gif
If I do take lunch it will be Riveta (sorry about the bad spelling
blush.gif
) with cucumber and ham.

Don't actually watch what I eat so not too worried yet
grin.gif

You're really are not round at all
laugh.gif

No I'm not happy with my weight (I'm the same height and weigh nearly double what you weigh) I've put on four stone over the last 5 years due to illness and will be trying very hard to lose it.

Your brain will need the energy during the day so definitely take some lunch to school everyday. Even if its Riveta and some fruit. You'll feel better for it i'm sure!

I'm probably one of the rare people who are genuninely happy with my weight AND don't do much to maintain it.
tongue.gif

I'm 5'8 and weight a little over 10st. I've been half a stone heavier and felt fat, and lost half a stone and been too thin.

I could do with fittening up and exchanging a little fat for muscle tho!

As an adult 5'3 and 7.5 stone sounds underweight if anything, but at 13 you'll still have a teenageers boyish body. As you develop you'll put weight on in the right places and start to look more 'womanly', with curves where there should be curves.
wink.gif
You should also grow a good couple of inches!

Not eating lunch is probably one of the worst things you can do for weight maintance/loss - your body goes into 'starvation' mode so when you eat your dinner later it tries desperatly to store everything as fat. You'll be much healthier eating lots of healthy stuff for lunch (pot of fruit, yogurt, pasta salad - low fat, low salt, high carb and high fibre) - not only will you feel full, be able to concentrate and have more energy but your metabolism stays high and ticks over properly. You might even loose weight!

I wish I was a stone heavier
blush.gif

Im about 5ft 2/3'', 23 yrs, and weigh about 7 stone ish.
I dont eat much at all, but I cant eat if im not hungry if that makes sense?
confused.gif

Id love to be about 8 - 8 1/2 stone!
I think I have a quick motabalism (sp)

Blimey you're slim Not fat at all! My daughter is between 5ft1 and 5ft 2 (but she might have grown again), is nearly 10 1/2 and weighs 7 stone. She is quite muscular and fit but slim, and not at all chubby, so I'd say for your age and height you're probably About Right AND DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!

If you calculate your Body Mass Index you will probably find that you are normal weight (if anything, borderline UNDERWEIGHT, but certainly not OVERWEIGHT!?)

You can calculate your BMI online for example on
http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/

Excuse me for being blunt, but I find it a bit irritating to listen to clinically underweight/normal weight people whining about their weight. If you have self-esteem issues you have my full sympathy, but spare a thought for other people's self esteem too. If you are clinically normal weight or underweight and still whine about it, how do you think that makes girls in the other end of the scale feel? End of rant :-)
