Ru was naked yesterday which was lovely but it's a bit colder and raining here today so he's got a lightweight on

Cairo was for the first time this year. Chancer has his summer t/o on as he is showing this weekend and I am trying to keep him cleanish as we are still on winter mud paddocks.

Today - summer t/o for both - Cairo is old and needs to be kept warm and dry for his joints.

Not long and it will be hot weather and fly sheets - I hope.

My TB's living out at the moment and not in work, Mum was all for whipping her rug off completely on Monday, but seeing as it is still cold here and getting down to 4 degrees at night and she had been in her winter weight up to then, I thought that was a bit mean!! So she has her lightweight on now, but I'm hoping to take it off on friday when it's meant to get a lot warmer

She'll then stay naked whatever the weather until the autumn, I can't be doing with changing it every day, but I do like to give them a bit of time to acclimatize gradually!!

some of mine are and some arnt. they have been out 24/7 all winter and its just my old retired mw hunter who has one on now, gone down from one with a neck cover to standard neck.
the livery horses who have been allowed to keep them out at night a few weks now, tend to either still be rugged at night or all the time.

Mine are both naked at the moment, have been for a few days but feeling guilty today as it is now raining opps

Me too Accy, it was lovely this morning and now its been raining for a while, if it stops it'll be ok otherwise I'll have to get the soggy boys in to dry off before the have their pyjamas on.

Old horse was naked yesterday.
The others all have their medium 200g spring/autumn rugs on with no necks.
Twas pouring this morning so wasnt going to chance them getting too cold (they are clipped out).
Am considering turning them out full time come next week tho.

Ours are out naked today, think they might be abit wet now oops!

Just to add, all the horses are naked at work - all yr round! And the mares already have excellent fine summer coats, And yet Ellis, who has been rugged, is about half way through shedding.
I think most horses are over rugged nowadays! - They are horses after all.......

Was going to leave Ellie naked but then it clouded over and threatened to rain so I left her LW waterproof on but now I wish I had left her naked
