Just wondered if it was something in our water system lol but my two are feeling rather fresh at the moment, however I did notice a few weeks ago the grass had really picked up, certainly a greener October than previous years.

Oh yes!!
Our grass is so good I'm having to strip graze the Destroyer which is mental at the end of october!! I'm putting it down to a combination of being fully clipped, the very cold bright sunny days and amazing grass but Hovis is so full of beans its untrue!
I've had to lunge him to take the edge off twice in recent weeks which is unheard of and I had complete brake failure as he wanted to go whizzing around a stubble field at mach 10 last week!

I Wish!!!

Mr P has gone into hibernation mode! (who'd of thought ex- racers had hibernation mode)

Dad is on the case of finding some Speedy Feed!!

Yes !! My mare is extra 'special' :) She is super alert, on her toes constantly and extra spooky.
My lovely friend, who schools her for me, patted her on the neck before she got off and she spooked sideways as if to say eeek what's that on my neck!

Yes..... our quiet hack yesterday was not so quiet in the end, we had galloping, bucking, throwing himself sideways, then not 100m from home Dan decided he would reverse down the road threatening to rear and spin, then bolt forward like a lunatic and prance the last 50m! :o

I've even cut the feed down, in fact there getting less feed and hay now than they were during some of the summer months.

Both have been flying round on the lunge doing giant cat leaps and buckeroos, now I can expect that sort of nonsense from Mackenzie :D but not the little TB  mind you they have not been ridden for a few weeks as I've been busy and been away but still, I think I'll be getting my ratchet strap and my sticky bums out at this rate :D

Yep, yesterday pony grew about 3 hands in the school and wouldn't settle with lots of spooking! He's also turned into an elephant and we have no grass! I'm blaming the new batch of hay I've got and have swiftly instigated summer diet rations again, pony is not impressed and is considering a revolution I think.

Definately a bit fresh at the moment judging by the squirrel moment we had the other day....squirrel ran out onto road, my mare launched sideways snorting......squirrel froze, mare froze quivvering, squirrel thought he would make the first move and made a dash for it, she lept sideways the other way into the hedge....then jumped out of the hedge as the leaves rustling just about sent her over the edge!
We wont even go into the geese episode :-D

lol

Dam those squiggles!

in the last 3 days both of my 28 year olds have managed to barge through the gate when i have been getting another in/turning out and have been cantering up and down the grass verges of the lane (on a private estate so not as bad as it may sound!)... and then of course they didnt want to be caught...
also, my stallion is feeling rather 'frisky' at the moment!

So that is what is wrong with our 2yo!! He has gone from a laid back angel to a bucking, cantering, kicking out demon:eek::eek::eek: He is being an absolute b*@ger and I can only put it down to the grass.

YES!!! And NOT funny when trying to get back into riding from having a broken rib and being out of shape from not riding for 2 months!! I've been lunging/free schooling Hattie 4 times a week while I've been broken but now I have a super fit horse who is out of her mind because of the grass and weather with me, a lumpy out-of-shape broken rider on her..sigh..

Yup... nutters,, all of 'em, even the ponies are having the odd moment. Mine seem to go a tad "special " at every change of season:confused:

pmsl at the "squirrel moment":D:D

Thank god it's not just my girl then who has gone nuts. Was seriously starting to question my sanity to see if I had inadvertently changed something. Yesterday we spent most of the time galloping and bucking around the school on the long reins as well as various other tricks recently. Why oh why do we aim to get them so fit and muscled though when we have to deal with this kind of behaviour I ask myself constantly.

On a plus side today though decided to do some ground work in dually and had her walking over tarpaulin and the lot - which seemed to stretch her mentally hugely, she came out of the school with that 'my head is to tired to hold up' look so will see what happens tomorrow!!!!

All of ours are right on their toes. We moved some to new fields a month ago and for the ones who had moved we put it down to that, and for the ones left behind (who can no longer see the others) we assumed they had been upset by the change. But they are still all dancing around.

Jazzy's just "normal" Jazz - as far as that is possible! He's generally pretty good though. He did have a question about the 3 massive Sainsbury's banners tied to the arena fence (to desensitise YO's dressage stallion) but was over pretty quickly really!!!
