Arrived at Broadway just in good time, warmed her up for the dressage, luckily our teams eventing "coach/trainer" was there, so she warmed us all in nicely and tara was feeling wonderful, but oh the standard was amazing
So i knew i wouldnt have much of a chance. Anyway, i went in and did a fairly accurate, relaxed test- had 1 bad moment where she spooked in canter as a horse in the arena next to us cantered past, and we over-shot the centre line, but it was deffinately alot better than ever before
Onto showjumping- we walked the course first and watched the first few go...16 faults...8 faults...20 faults...
Got her tacked up and was abit hurried in the warm up, she wasnt jumping very well, but went in and she jumped really nicely, just had number 5 down which was a 3"6ft straight coming down hill- was expecting it really. but it was up to height (3"7ft maximum), so was really pleased, as so many wherent going clear! One member in my team went clear, the other two had 8 faults each.
Onto the xcountry- what seemed a verry straight forward course, especially for area
But over the loudspeaker people where racking up faults! tried not to let it phase me though and off i went- number one a lovely brush type fence nice to get me going, turn to number two a fairly big rolltop- she hit it really hard and nearly landed on her nose, but she didnt luckily and we recovered, flew fence 3 a simple ski jump and 4 some helsinky (sp) steps, 5a and b a step up to a log, fence 6..now this was where i was worried, she has been having problems at any fences with ditches and this was a ski jump with a ditch infront, so i really rode her into it and she FLEWWW, onto fence 7 a brush fence on top of a hill, fence 8 (loads of people had stops here!) a narrow log, flew it! jumped number 9 perfectly, 2 ski jumps on a 90 degrees angle, then a nice gallop to number 10 a coffin (ditch full of water) which she didnt think twice about, up a step at number 11 and drop off over a log and onto number 12 a rolltop straight after- on the home stretch, number 13 a picnic table no problem, 14 the water--- GAHH! it was a log, stride to a drop down, few strides to a step out and then 1 stride to a massive house- she flew!!! onto a double of rails fine, and the last jump which she flew
So really chuffed with a clear
Team didnt do to well- one girl went clear, one fell off at number 9, one had several refusals at the water
but results showed i was 10th in my section after dressage!!! and best dressage in my team!!
lots of faults sj but i didnt move much after that, still about 10th- didnt stay for them to put xc results up as had to get back as brother was coming to visit tonight but results will be up on website soon
Sorry for the hugeee report!! dad videoed dressage/showjumping but will upload that another day!
