Whilst this isn't an overly exciting report with amazing placings etc it's more just I'm mega pleased to have got to this point and hopefully help others know that anyone can have a go, in a GP saddle and all lol!

My goal for 2023 was to do BD and get 1 point. 9 months later we've got 14 points and qualified for the areas which is cool seeing as our first affiliated score was 51.40% 😆

We went to Brook Farm to do the Prelim Bronze section, big class of 43, having managed to qualify I just wanted to go and to be honest it's good to support these things whilst they exist.
We did what we set out to do and that was complete our test, get a plaque and a pro pic. The test wasn't anything to write home about, we scored 59.17%, but we had no drama at all, not a single spook, which when I look back on our very short BD career is what I'll take any day! I'm looking forward to getting my sheets back to go through them, I know from the video what we need to continue working on so will be good to compare that with the judges comments.
It was a good day, lovely venue as never been before and luckily 2 easy journeys there and back.
I am really proud as it's been a journey and a half with various set backs and problems in his short ridden career but we're just out to enjoy the successes that we can. Hopefully we can keep on progressing, not sure what our 2024 goal will have to be as achieved way more than I expected this year!

It might not be "exciting" but it's a huge achievement and you have every right to be proud!
Massive congratulations!

We went to our second area festivals 2 weeks ago. We have only been affiliated under a year. Sadly my horse decided he had a sore mouth and we scored our worst ever. Also doing prelim bronze.

However. After I worked out the issue (and have it sorted) I was still just so pleased to have qualified and to have gone. That plague is the best bit and is up outside his stable with the first one.

Hopefully both you and I can get to another 😊

Don't sell yourself short! This is a massive achievement in a relatively very short time frame. My favourite few words from your whole post..."we're just out to enjoy the successes that we can" IMHO that is the bottom line whatever our horsey dreams and plans. If you have that attitude you have already succeeded, anything else is just the icing on the cake.☺️
