I am in the process of convincing my mum that we need some better lights for our arena but im no electrician so i actually have no idea what we need, all i know is that the current ones aren't good enough!
we currently have a 20x65 arena but when the lights first went up it was a 20x40 so the top half isn't lit at all at the moment and the lights we have in place aren't strong enough to light it!
we have 4 lights on the top of scaffolding poles (no idea how high that is!! will google to find out!) and they are currently placed one in the corner at K, one on the opposite side by P, one by R and the other is in between E and S (im hoping that makes sense!) all connected to the mains
im hoping we can get some more powerful ones so i can jump as the current ones just give a pool of yellow light enough to school and lunge... if you don't use the top end of the arena that is! seems like such a waste to have a nice extended arena and not be able to use it because the lights are rubbish!!!
so my questions are:
1) can we get more powerful lights to light the top end without needing to put more poles up?
2) do we need to go higher than scaffold poles to reduce the light pooling effect?
3) what sort of lights do we need to be able to jump/ give off better light than a pool of yellowyness?! im not talking huge jumps just enough to keep him ticking over - probably just a bit of grid work!
sorry probably not being terribly helpful i don't know the make of our current lights but they aren't very big and have lasted 10 yrs so about time for an upgrade!!!
thanks for your help
