Are there any companies local to Boston (Swineshead) who can restore an arena to its former glory. We built the arena 3 years ago and it is only used by 2 horses. It drains well but the rubber chips (Springride) we put on the sand seems to have shifted and there are bare patches and some very deep rubber areas. We rake out the sides and level with a metal gate. Love some professional help to sort it out.

Hi Cassy. I know it's a few months ago but if you haven't yet resolved the issue.....Your problem sounds a little unusual. Provided you have a good fine to medium angular sand down to a depth of approx 4" and rubber to 2" it shouldn't shift. If you call Mark on 01736 757522 he'll do his best to offer some sound advice and possible solutions. Best wishes, Kathy at Springride

I had exactly the same problem. I took loads of advice but companies were all recommending a new surface[ their products of course].

I solved the problem with an arena mate. The gate type leveller I had was making the surface very uneven so I had waves of piles of rubber then bald areas.

The guy from arena mate came to level the arena with his arena mate for free and it was as good as new. I bought it on the spot. I now have a perfect arena which has saved me loads of money . Thank goodness I didn't buy a new surface.
