I’ve just bought an arena gp saddle for my mare (we had it fitted and it’s the one she seemed happiest in) but I noticed it has a longer front billet? Does anyone know why?
Billets can be angled forwards down or backwards depending on girth placement so they will never sit level in all possible positions, but as the point strap sits lower at the top than the other two then I'd say it's some variation on cost saving or laziness of the person applying the webbing. As long as everything is symmetrical left to right then I'd not worry, but it does show how a strong elasticated end girth can be better to even out the pressure on the girth straps and therefore saddle.
