Help please, we have a 20 x 40 outdoor arena that is two years old. It drains very well, in fact a bit too well and has only frozen once. The problem we have is that last summer it got very dry and very deep. The surface is Martin Collins silica sand and Equestrian Direct Rubber. Most of the rubber has sunk and already the dry weather is starting to make it deep.

We harrow almost every day and watered daily last summer, but with a hosepipe ban on the horizon we think we need to look at a new surface to top up.

I have been recommended by Eqestrian Direct to top up with FlexiRide a sort of chopped carpet tile that apparently doesn't track as badly and holds moisture in more effectively. Apparently also coated with a frost resitant coating?

Does anyone have any experience of FlexiRide or any other recommendations?

Thanks
