It was an amazing few days!

We arrived Wed afternoon after getting stuck in traffic, horses all seemed ok but Fee as a little excited by her new surroundings! After bedding down (lugging everything from the lorry to the stables was a nightmare!) and giving her some hay she seemed to settle and so i began to really look forward to the next few days!

I wasn't jumping on Thursday so just tacked up and schooled her in the collecting ring, she was a bit uptight but i managed to settle her again and was feeling quite positive for the next day. Unfortunatly serious nerves set in over night....

and my first round on the Friday was not so good. I remember walking the course and thinking it looked bigger than 1.05m. We were both stressed and as a result i had problems at a double and got eliminated!

I tried to stay positive and reminded myself that 'tomorrow is another day.'

She felt much better the next day - and so did i, after a few vodkas the night before!

I walked the course and got my number down early, as there was over 250 in each qualifier, i thought it best to get it over and done. She warmed up really beautifully, although still a little fresh. I stayed positive and managed to get round, but had two poles and a stop, 12 faults in all. I was pleased though, as it was an improvement even though we weren't on form.

All in all i had a great few days and watched some amazing SJ along the way!

It was great to see Buckinghorse too, her horse is beautiful!

Anyway here are a few pics:

Great report and fabby pics! The second Sat one looks like something from a catalogue! I wish I could look so composed when competing!

Glad you enjoyed yourself....that's the main reason we do it after all

I have to agree with you too...the yellow and white oxer looks a good 1.10m maybe even 1.15m....problem is with so many in the class they have to do something to knock the numbers down a bit and often as not height is used over complexity

The saturday photo is super...hope you bought that one !
