Can anyone suggest arenas that I can hire in north Shrops/ Staffs area please?

Ideally somewhere with parking on hard standing and a set of SJ I can use.

(P.S. Tushingham Arena is already on the list so am aware of that one :) ) Someone mentioned a place in Hales to me but I can't remember the name of it so if anyone can point me in their direction, that would be great! :)

Do you mean indoor arena or just an arena with a surface, because they have the latter at Hadley Farm in Whitchurch, plus a great x country course.

MM, an outdoor is fine. I had thought about Hadley but everyone I've mentioned it to says their surface is pretty poor, especially compared to somewhere like Tushingham plus I'm told the latter is cheaper, too. Thanks though, I probably will get around to going to Hadley at some point. Have done their XC :D

Theres Watt Meadow in Featherstone, Cannock? Don't know if thats out the way but they hire either the indoor or outdoor out (as far as I know) and the jumping arena

If you're ever coming over this way, we could always hire Pear Tree Lakes in Barthomley. Can hack there, if you had time, and they have a full course of SJ's with fillers, water trays, gates etc.

It's £10 an hour (£15 for two horses for the hour). Kids break up Friday too so we can always use a fence hand in the form of Hannah Spanner....although I guess we'd have to trailer there for that. :D

They have oodles of space for parking/turning around. Surface is lovely, even in the driest of weather. Doesn't ride deep and the school is easily as big, if not bigger, than the one at your yard.

Hadn't realised about the surface at Hadley, about 7 years since daughter went there. Tushingham seems very good now they have improved the surface, they should have a new grass arena soon too, think it has been delayed by the lack of rain last month.

Sounds good to me, we'll do that at some point. I would probably just meet you there though. I can't really do anything in the week next week unless it's an evening TBH though, and would need to be more local (say, Hadley or Tushingham) really as I can't be at the yard til about 6pm...

I thought it looked fine from a distance when I did the XC a couple of months ago but didn't go up to inspect it so I'm only going on hearsay. I might be totally wrong! I hope I am as Hadley is only 20 mins from my yard so would be nice and local!

I haven't been to Tushingham since they've made the improvements but have heard it is fabulous now. I just remember when it always used to flood and they had algae growing at one end of the arena LOL, but we're talking 6 years or more ago now!

That's fine..I wasn't really meaning next week...just that Hannah is off for the summer from Friday if we need a joey to move the fences for us. ;) :p :D

They have alot on at school this coming week....end of term discos, garden party, concerts blah blah.

Hales sounds awesome though!

P is like a new woman since our ride last week. I kept moaning that she didn't seem "right" but the less I rode her the worse she was becoming. Started upping the work and she's feeling much better. Her nasal issues must be dust related as it's disappeared now we've had rain and the fields aren't dusty deserts.

Can't wait to get going again.

Ah ok!! Now I understand! Yep, we definitely need a joey to move fences :) Tell her as a reward I will let her have a sit on M afterwards... lmao, she always looks terrified when I say that to her! :D ;)

Good to hear she's feeling well. We've done another mammoth ride today, found somewhere with XC jumps all around the field edges (proper ones and a proper track that we are allowed on!) so you'll both (ie, you and Hannah if she fancies it) have to come over to do that one.

We could always hire Hadley and do 30 mins in the arena then play on the XC after, if we hire both.
