So...I work in health science and am pretty skeptical about homeopathy. Probably about 98% skeptical I'd say! However a friend reckons that Argentum nitricum has helped her nervy horse enormously and has suggested that I try it on my pony. He's not spooky and is delightful to handle, but he is a bit of a worrier and is slowly learning to settle and engage his brain before attempting to flee into the distance when something upsets or confuses him.
Does anyone have any experience of argentum nitricum for horses (or people)? Has it helped you? Did you try it and think it's all total nonsense? I have bought some as I thought I'd take a punt and it can't hurt, but I'd love to hear people's own experiences of using it.
Just to be clear, to the best of our knowledge the pony is not in pain, he has an ulcer-friendly lifestyle (if that makes sense) and he is currently not ridden, so I'm not looking for suggestions to check his tack / back / teeth etc - we've got that covered. All those things can and will be checked again if necessary.
I've posted this in Horse Care & Feeding as I couldn't bring myself to put it in Veterinary!
