Well we have had a week of 25 degree weather, bbqs sunshine only blue skys here in Norway so I thought great time to make my hay as we have had so much rain this summer making more from the 2nd cut was getting doubtful.

However we have cut it, loveingly turned it all week and was about to bale all of it this morning and I woke up and it is pissing it down and looks like its here all day.

I have wasted around 3-400 bales of really nice hay just because I did not do it yesterday and it was ready then... this is one of those if I could turn back time moments.

My husband has scarpered to the farm to stay out of my way as we are both gutted and it was his desicion on when to bale so I think he feels a bit bad. He assures me he checked the farmers weather updates and good weather was forecasted and actually still is, so he could not of known, but you know how it is when two people are so angry and there is nothing you can do but feel gutted, so probably best for some time apart to simmer down so we dont do the it was your fault route.

Any chance of saving it and drying it more when the weather changes or is it too late once rained on towards end of drying? I dont want to ask my farmer husband as we will end up having a barny this morning lol! I am minus 200 bales that I needed, as I only have 280 in my barn. What do I do...help ?

I think farmers can salvage it if it dries again, but I think they then use it as livestock hay as its a bit worse quality than horse hay. Sorry
