Argh...crab flies!!

I HATE them...spoilt a perfectly good ride this evening. Poor Bentley was stamping and twitching and jogging and I was trying to grab and squish the little buggers but they are so hard to kill...best way is roll them around hard between your thumb and forefinger like a big bogey until they pop. Prob the only thing I dislike about living in the New Forest!

You get them in the UK as well then? We call them deer flies here. Hate them, they even go for the dogs!!!

Best way to kill them is to rip off their heads!

I pop them between my nails, I did find that if you spay them with fly spray or even water they can't move much. They go under the tails here and around the sheath. Nasty!

Yeah...its when they go between his back legs and he kicks and kicks...just gets so agitated bless him. I'm getting braver at grabbing and squishing but they really gross me out!

Try baby oil under his tail, then they don't grip so well!!!

I HATE them, and I know some horses will throw themselves down on concrete to try and get them off!

Baby oil sounds like a good idea .... fly spay just makes them scuttle around and dive in to all those little nooks and crannies!
