Argh! Murphy has shrunk!

Murphy has been on his hardcore diet for nearly 2 years now, and nobody warned me how expensive it was going to be!!

He is on his third saddle, and has gone through 4 wintec gullets (that's a lot of time spent swearing at gullet and saddle while trying to change the gullet!!

)

Yesterday I clipped him, put his rug on...and it's now ENORMOUS on him... it's down to his knees!! I'm now a bit worried that I'm going to have to replace his lovely Mark Todd TO rugs, that I bought because they were the only rugs big enough to go round him 2 years ago

Argh! I can't afford new rugs!

Do you think it might be time to stop the diet?! He's lost 130kg now!

I had a nutritionist design a diet for him. He is out 24/7 from March to Oct on restricted grazing, then in overnight in winter with ad lib hay whuch is soaked for 24 hours. He has been clipped and was deliberately under-rugged when he was fat. He is worked 6 days a week, for an hour a day, and fed all his vits and mins (D&H equibites - fab product!), and a bit of happy hoof. Now he has lost weight and gained muscle he needs much more feed so he has competition cubes.

Wow! have to say he's a bit lush isn't he! love his muscly bottom now! Condolences for the increase in expense though
