Old yard owner used to let horses live out 365 days a year. When he died his wife and her sister took our yard over, the repairs have been much better etc so up til now everything has been fine.
One of the girls told me that YO's sister wants horses brought in over night from 1st December
We'll find out at the weekend when too but am slightly worried as Fudge has never been stabled over night but pony wouldn't mind.
I wouldn't mind but the weather has been great, our ground is good and we still have plenty of grass so why shut the fields? What I'm most annoyed with though is that I spoke to them about this last week and they assured me that I would be able to turn out 24/7 all winter
Will have to consider moving if it's going to be for more than a couple of months as my horse and pony are only in light work and I think turnout is the most important thing horses should have, which would be a shame as I've been happy at this yard for ten years.
I'm really upset that the YO's have changed their minds especially when I really don't see that there is any need to shut the fields until the weather starts getting bad. Am also a little worried that we might have to catch in by a certain time as the earliest i can be at the yard on a weeke day is 7pm and I can't really afford to pay someone to catch in etc
Ok rant over
