Basically, I have a wonderful 18yo, 17hh westphalian on loan - he's kept at a private yard where his owners live, but only at weekends... He is mine to treat as my own bar some livery arrangements ie field rotations etc and sometimes the novice owner (man) rides him at weekends but generally nothing too strenuous and can still ride at weekends or go to show/fun ride by prior arrangement.

I am going to have to cut back on my riding over the next few months, prob until at least next summer, and could do with some help keeping the old lad going as he's physically holding up pretty well for a big old chap and seems to enjoy his work still. A proper schoolmaster, he was a grade A showjumper and has done a lot of PC stuff with his last rider, taking her up through a few grades SJ wise and winning her some regional-y level dressage. Basically, he's an all-round good egg.

I want to write an advert that will highlight the lack of yard duties and the fact that there are no financial commitments, but try to stop a load of novices, kids or general freeloaders getting their hopes up. I suppose I want the holy grail of adverts and responses don't I!? Any tips??? :D

free ads is good, also your local tack shops/feed shops and if you use facebook there should be equine pages for your area, yell if you cant find them and i will have a hunt.

as for advert.

rider wanted for 17.1hh gelding good in always and the perfect school master, good to do in always, happy for rider to have regualr lessons and there are other people on the yard to hack with,
no financial commitment needed and no yard duties, please no novices as rider will be un supervised.

Thanks, tried something on local area fb group...plummeted like a stone!! Lol I think will try local uni equestrian team in a few weeks as have reasonable links with them and a topical time, plus will try and stick something on free ads.

I've only ever been on the other end of these adverts so it's a whole new world but I've heard it's a bit of a ballache!
