Argh!! Where are all the Mitsubishi Shoguns??!!

Ok, so those who may have read my previous post about which 4x4 Discovery or L200? We decided on a Shogun, newer than a Pajero and cheaper than a new shape L200 ( which we would love, just cant afford)
WE have an ok budget and are looking for a long wheelbase, X reg (2000 and up) under 100K miles and must be 3.2 diesel engine.

I dont care what colour or interior I would just like a car.

So, anyone know where they are????

Have a look on Ebay....seriously; that's where we were looking until we lucked into a SWB for sale locally.

They are popular cars, so are a little hard to track down.

Yeah have got ebay and autotrader and browsed local car dealerships etc etc.....went and looked at one in Bradford and was immaculate inside and out, engine was shagged though, typical!

Might be going to Blackpool to look at one.....just trying tp find the time to!

I've just bought one last week actually. A 3.2l Diesel but it's a SWB as that was what I was looking for. On a 2001 plate. Gorgeous condition, leather seats etc etc and in a fab metallic blue. I found it on the Autotrader website and had to just search search search, found it, went the next day, travelled 130 miles to get it but loved it and bought it. After driving my old car that had a drink problem I am loving the fact that it cost me £80 to fill it up and driving 130 miles back and a week later I am just below the 3/4 mark which makes me smile every time I get in it lol

Yay, glad to hear someone's found one!

Can I ask very roughly what you paid for it, and the mileage? Apologies for the cheekiness, won't take it personally if choose not to answer! :D
 
Have you considered a Shogun Sport? Thats what we have & its fab, tows really well & never (touch wood) given us a days trouble & weve had it nearly 3 years. Plus i think it looks nicer than the LWB Shogun. Lots of leg room in the back for passengers & still plenty of boot space.

Ive got one, but it isnt for sale either, hehe.

I bought it a year ago its a 3.2 2003 plate special edition, lwb, leather, dvd player, heated electric seats, full mistubishi service history, 70k miles... and I paid £8000.

It took me AGES to find it, be patient there are some good ones out there!

No I don't mind because to me it's worth it. I got it for £5.5k and it has 75 on the clock. It is automatic though ( sort of like auto tiptronic ) but I wasn't bothered auto or manual. I can show you a picture if you want because the condition is fab for it's age.
 
Kizzywiz, that is mean, boo to you! Ivebeentangoed, never thought I'd suffer car envy :p

Thanks Cyberchick, useful to know - we're looking for an auto too, does it feel much different to tow with? I know a lot of people prefer manual but I have a dodgy left shoulder/arm, so auto is another must & part of the reason for changing the car :)

navaho, we are looking at the sports too, although I hear they have a really large turning circle?

Haha... I didnt think you could ever actually love a car but you can, ;)

Mines an auto too, its so much lovlier to tow with, makes the ride a lot smoother.. Plus mine has cruise control, so I just put it at 50 on the motorway and all I have to do is steer, the car does all the rest! xx

Well the turning circle isn't great....but its still better than the L200, i have to admit that is the only criticism i have for it, apart from that it honestly has been really good :)
 
Here's mine. I haven't towed with it yet so I can't help you in that one. After only a week I am still admiring it and keeping it clean. It won't last long so I'll stick a trailer on the back of it soon i'm sure.

Thanks navaho & IBT, good to know. Will definately look at the sports too when they come up. Don't even mind a few scrapes etc, as long as it's mechanically sound. It's so disappointing to get excited & then get there to discover it's a shed :(

Hopefully I'll be able to post pics of my shiny new (well, new to me!) Shogun before too long...;)

personaly I woud'nt touch a shogun sport they are basicly the old shape l200 with an estate body they drink fuel are gutless and bouncy had one on demo once it was awfull the big proper shoguns are great esp the autos, watch the manuals the clutch can give trouble and are pricey to replace ...
 
Strange, we haven't had any of the problems you describe, certainly not gutless or bouncy & we've done miles of towing with ours, also not that thirsty considering the size of it, infact it costs the same to run as our old 2L Astra we had. Maybe you drove a dodgy one lol, each to their own at the end of the day :)
 
Haha!! Love it, thanks for all the replies guys and I dont mind my thread being Hijacked as its all relivent ;)

Still struggling ot find a shougun, have persuaded OH to consider Shogun Sports too....should be fun!
SWB is too small, theres one for £1600 near us but with 3 year old boy and 2 dogs the boot certainly wasnt big enough.

WE havent got long to find one, approx 10 days as my car has been sold!

On my driveway! :D

We went to the mitsubishi garage and had our name put on the waiting lise for when one came in. Its not the newest ones with the low fuel consumption and low emissions but its a new style one.
