Argh!!!

So, sisters mare has mud fever, I hadn't had a proper look til today and it is practically open sores! Huge scabby mess all over her legs. Any suggestions what ot do with it? Should we use warm water to get rid of the scabs?

And then... took my boy on a hack and half way round (the furthers POSSIBLE point from home) he went lame. Had walked most of the way til then so hadn't noticed anything odd, by the time we got home he was hopping lame in trot. No obvious heat/inflammation etc. GRR!

So, now out of 5 we have 1 w/ mud fever, 1 w/ an ongoin abcess (1month so far!) , 1 without a shoe and 1 severely lame. Typical....

With the mudfever i'd suggest hibiscrub...i suggest it for everything lol

yes hibiscrub my vet suggested that to me when my horses droppings were loose and made her legs red and sore though make sure you dry them well afterwards
