to find me a new horse to fill the stable that is reserved but only until end of January I've been searching everywhere I can humanly check ha ha

I think I must be asking the impossible maybe?

I am looking for a safe sensible horse don't mind if it's not a cob now I just want a horse to love and look after etc... seems that there isn't anything out there at the moment or the ones i have enquired about seem nice to start with but then upon talking to owners their quirks come to light...ok I dont mind a horse with little quirks but really do not want a rearer, bucker or bolter and one that is good to load.

Maybe I am searchng for the impossible??

Anyone else having trouble for a horse?

I am an honest kind loving experienced person that just wants a horse to have back in her life and would even buy if owner allowed.

Getting real depressed looking for one now :(

hey have u looked at the rescue charities? Also what do u want it for hacking etc? A retired polo pony could make a brilliant horsey for you, i have had many and still have many and they are great!

tell us your requirements and budget, am sure we'll have a look, and definately check out the welfare charities, WHW, Bluecross and RSPCA are the big ones check out their websites for what they have in.

Most of the charities I have looked into have an area they let their horses go out to.
Yeah hacking, schooling bit of jumping and showing etc...

Nothing too really exciting...

Have you tried putting up a wanted ad? with a full description of your experience, expectations, how the horse would be kept and offer of references - that should drum up some response! You could probably post "your" ad up here as you are not selling - and others can pick at it so it is really effective!

I am finding that alot of people are not wishing to loan out these days...or is it really that I am looking for the impossible?

I wish I had the cash upfront to go buy one, but sadly I don't.

Any horse that I get will have the very best of everything and will want for nothing I have so much love to give I am struggling to find my sanity now....hate being sat in day in day out...lol

I have looked at rescue centres too...and ex polo ponies....pretty much anything at the moment...but still nothing suitable has been found.

Sorry for sounding like a whinge but I really do not want to miss out on a great yard due to not having a horse now....(I did previously have one lined up but sadly it has fallen through...on owners behalf).

I got my boy on full loan in March via Horse Hunter.

I was searching daily for full loans and found it wasn't the easiest. There was often good reasons horses were for full loan and not sale - issues, lameness, etc

I eventually put up a wanted advert and within a matter of days had a reply from my boys owner and here we are happily ever after (most of the time)!!!

lol :) :D thanks starla....was thinking of you earlier strangley...lol

how you doing?

i could always come and lend a hand for you when ever you want...even just to feed, muck out or anything like that...

I'm grand tarr :)

You are MORE than welcome to do anything you like with my two. Kit doesn't get ridden Mon - Fri by me as it's too dark when I finish work, so in a desperate bid for her not to lose fitness completely she gets lunged two or three times a week in the morning and ridden at weekends, so if you ever want to ride her it'll only be a bonus!

I know you want a full loan though, I'm on the case! xx

I may take you up on that offer thanks...will do us both a favour then...

I have been checking race horse websites out today too....if there was a suitable one I think I could be interested....lol

give me a pm hun with details....x

Bless you hun. I'm sure something will crop up. I'll have a scoot about the internet although I'm not the best at finding things.

Don't know where abouts in Essex you are but if you're up Cambridge way I have a brown horse you can ride and pet when ever you like :)

Don't despair. Before I bought I had a lovely mare on full loan at my yard. She was super and it was a totally happy relationship between me and owner so they are out there

Thank you for the words of wisdom....i've not been in a situation like this for many years...

I have contacted the Darley Racehorse centre....if they have a suitable horse available I wont turn away just because it is not a cob....lol

I am in a similar situation have an empty stable looking for a horse to buy!!

I know how frustrating it is so emphathise!! I have wanted ads up in the local feed / tack shops and OH thinks im mad for spending every night on H&H, Horsemart, etc etc in fact he thinks he is divorced to horses!! lol :D

The thread i posted the other day on H&H threw up a couple of options that i have enquiries out so im keeping my fingers crossed.. Come on all you who love a spot of horsey shopping lets find Merly werly a horsey to fill her stable!!

I have now broadened my search area from so If i see anyting whilst on the hunt ill let you know

K xx
