Have rung every single farrier in the area, and not one will come and see my horse! He really needs a trim and is footsore on the roads - what can I do?! Have even rung the local riding schools asking if I could bring Banjo to them when their farrier comes - to a resounding no from all of them. Does anyone else have this much trouble?! Its ridiculous!

only just bought horse - researched farriers before he arrived but they either didnt answer the phone, didnt get back to me or said no. so now trying a second wind and getting the same result! have even said I will take horse to yards where they are working - but still no! Arghhhh!!!!

I would phone the equine vet that you are going to register your horse with and ask them for a recommendation.

Once you've got that, give them a buzz and ask them if they can put you on their books and what the earliest is that they can come and shoe the horse.

Have you tried ringing the Farriers Registration Council and seeing if there are any newly qualified farriers in your area - they are often keener to take on new business.

hi lemonade, I'm having the same trouble (see my update on farriers post). I think I might start a 'farriers drive me up the wall' clique, would you like to join!?
