So the neighbouring farmer put some cows in the field next to thelivery yard. My young horse, Jay is the other side of the hedge from them. I got a call at work today to say he had broken thro the elec fence and was charging around with another two horses, scared of the cows, and hopping lame on one back leg! By the time YO and YM caught him he could not put the leg to the floor! They checked him all over but could find nothing and so i decided not to have the vet until I could see him for myself this afternoon. By the time I got there he was walking on it but is lame. Felt it from top to bottom squeezing gently and nothing obvious, no flinching, no heat. I guess he has pulled something.
He is due to got to the winter field on sunday for turn away til end Feb. i don't know whether to take him on sunday and keep and eye on it and hope that the rest will heal it, or leave him at home for a week or two for it to heal, but then take him to the winter field risking him gallivanting around when I release him and he might pull it again.
Will see what he's like tomorrow. When I left the farm he was still snorting at the cows and staying the furthest away that he could!
