Hi,

I'm in desperate need of some new boots, for general yard work and riding. I have worn the soles out on my last pair and so am looking to get some better wearing ones. I like the look of the Ariat ones as they seem as if they'd be hard-wearing, but obviously they're very expensive and if there are any similar boots at a more reasonable price then i'd be interested. However, if the Ariat boots are truly worth the money then I would get a pair.

From past experience i don't like the Mountain Horse ones as they don't seem to wear well and crack really quickly but i have had some Equitector paddock boots in the past which were fab.

Does anybody have any suggestions? Are Ariat worth it or would imitations surfice?

Thanks in advance.

I've got various pairs of Ariat boots and they've all been great. For winter the Ariat Glacier ones are cosy and I got a pair of Ariat Arctic tall boots from ebay a few weeks ago and they've hardly been off my feet. The Ariat Arctic ones are old stock so you might get a bargain. The Ariat Bromont is the newer model but are far too fancy/expensive for yard work.

I have the short ariat jodhpur boots and the ariat grasmere's and i love both pairs. Definately worth the money IMO

i have had two pairs of mountain horse boots, the first pair the heel came off and the second were just uncomfy!
i have recently bought a pair of the ariat riding 'trainers' and they are soooo comfy! very supportive and warm! i could wear them all day! but not going to as i dont want to spoil them

£90 to buy but worth it i think! x

I strongly recommend Ariats, I still have the first pair I bought 12 years ago, and polished up they are thoroughly respectable. They are so comfortable that once you've worn ariats other boots just feel uncomfortable. I now own 4 different models and haven't had any trouble with them - worth every penny!

Ariat Devon Pros, well worth the cost IMHO and last far longer than the Heritage ones

Also they come up wider so if you've got wider/bigger feet, they'll fit better

Ariat boots are amazing. Feet are never cold , legs/ feet never ache, cant seem to wear a pair out ( bother no excuse for a new pair) Buy them direct from America much cheaper even with import tax.

I love my Ariat Heritage jod boots, although they are currently having the winter off so they don't get ruined ! I would love a pair of Grasmeres, as everyone i know who has them raves about them, but sadly my legs are much too chunky.

I currently have a very nice pair of Mark Todd yard boots that are really comfy.

The mark todd ariat copies are as good and harder wearing imho! The aroats tend to go quicker...normally round the zip or cracking the leather if used everyday....

Cheers everyone ... sounds like the Ariats are definately worth it. Will pop into Derby house and try some on then see if i can find any deals ...

Baleofhay, where abouts in America exactly can you import them?

Cheers

For anybody that is interested i have just order some ariat's off fosseequestrian.co.uk for 10% off and they were already a little bit cheaper than most places i'd seen them ... the price went down to £66 which i thought was good for boots that i have seen advertised usually around the £80 mark.
